My girls' birthdays are only weeks apart, so we had a joint party as usual. What better way to celebrate our sweethearts, and pay homage to the beginning of summer, than to have an ice cream party! It was literally so sweet! Their very own mommy-made ice cream parlor was decorated with vibrant summery hues, inspired by the ice cream party invitations available at my store. The party was set up as an ice cream buffet. At the head was a lovely menu with the ice cream and topping choices, which, to my birthday girls, was truly an ode to ice cream.
Oh the endless options! Our little guests chose their favorite flavor of ice cream and were delighted to add the toppings of their choice. We had beautiful and delicious sugar cookies decorated as popsicles and ice cream cones, chocolate cupcakes and mini cupcakes for the smallest of tummies. The birthday cake was also inspired by the ice cream party invitation from my store with festive stripes and topped with a fun double scoop ice cream cone. I saw a DIY tutorial for an adorable ice cream piñata, and made a similar version for the party (link in credits) it was pretty simple, just a bit time-consuming as all piñatas are. I created a lovely Ice cream truck favor box, for our little guests to take home, filled with fun and yummy treats. I used several items from my store to complete the dazzling look, which lies in the details. I'll include the links below to get a glimpse of my charming beverage bottles, cute straws, nostalgic wooden spoons, cute ice cream cups, and the entire ice cream theme party collection. This birthday party was so fun to plan and create! My two little girls' birthdays are within days of each other so we had a double birthday party. My older daughter turned eight and LOVES dogs, and my little one turned two and LOVES cats, so you could imagine their delight to have a puppy and kitten themed party! I splashed the party with vibrantly cheerful colors throughout the decorations, cake, and treats. I also tastefully sprinkled some gold throughout the decor to add a bit of glitz and glamour! The cake donned precious bright coral and bright mint green ruffles; a color combo I DIE for these days! The gorgeous ruffle hearts on the cake complemented the gorgeous ruffle cookies, which accompanied the adorable puppy and kitty cookies! They were almost too cute to eat, but yummy as can be! I made sweet little kitten and puppy themed cupcake toppers and incorporated the theme into the small details, like the "pupcorn" I served in fun popcorn boxes, and the cute straws with "let's pawty" tags, and the cake "pups" instead of cake pops! Of all of the darling components that made up this party, I have to say that one of the most enjoyable details was the gift we prepared for our guests. In lieu of a treat bag (since they all went home with treats from the piñata) we did a very special and memorable activity where the guests chose a toy puppy they wanted to adopt. They chose a collar, filled out a birth certificate, gave their new puppy a name and took him/her home in an adorable carrying case. They were also given "puppy chow" for their new pup, which was actually tasty cereal for them to enjoy. This party was so much fun and each small detail made the whole theme delightfully harmonious. It really came together in such a sweetly unforgettable way! The printable collection for this adorable theme is available in our site and on our Etsy shop! Our daughters Anais and Sophia have their birthdays just a few days apart, so we decided to celebrate them together. Anais, who turned 7, has had a fascination for horses and ponies ever since she was 4 years old. She is an ardent animal lover and loves anything associated with them: so we decided to host a Vintage horse party for her birthday. She was really very excited and thrilled when she learnt about the party theme. I too liked the theme as it could be customized according to the age group and as we were hosting a combined party, it was perfect for both our daughters and their friends. Our younger daughter Sophia who turned 1, though very young but she also enjoyed her party. Chocolate covered strawberry cake pops, pineapple flavored cupcakes with strawberry frosts and horse fondant toppers along with almond and butter flavored horse shaped cookies, pretzels, French macaroons filled with vanilla cream cheese and water bottles wrapped in personalized horse labels, that we had designed adorned the dessert table. We were very impressed and delighted by Alejandra from Pas-3 Art in Cakes who made the horse cookies and cupcake toppers. I really love her work and creativity and she surely exceeded my expectations this time. Sophia was so happy eating the cake pops and the horse cookies. It was funny to see her reaction as she took time to figure out that they were cookies.
The buffet had a spread of Chipotle's Mexican grill style bowls with cilantro-Lime Rice, beans, roasted Chili-Corn Salsa, sour cream, Pico de gallo, guacamole, lettuce, cheese, fajitas and much more. Our birthday girl Anais’s outfit was sent by our friend Brenda from ‘All for my Doll’. It was a cute a pettiskirt and a pretty shirt with ruffles at the top. Anais looked so beautiful! The birthday invites, labels, tags were designed by us and we also styled the party.
My amazing husband made the picture of the horses out of the pallet and we created the horse silhouette using a vinyl sticker. My mom and I made the garland tassel. She also decorated the goodie bags beautifully, using paper dollies, a small clothespin and the personalized tags we designed. Each and every child was happy to get the bag, which had sweets, snacks and a small toy.
The birthday party of both my angles was a blast and everyone really enjoyed it!
